Apprentice success at this years NI SkillBuild Heats!
Wednesday the 1st February 2017 saw us wave goodbye to grim old January and say hello to the beginning of a fresh, new month in 2017! It was also the day Springvale Learning began to celebrate Engineering success, having entered the reputable NI Skillbuild competition for the very first time.
NI Skillbuild has been run by CITB Northern Ireland for over 45 years and sees the best in construction talent compete against each other to be crowned the Skillbuild winner in their chosen trade. This is a points based test and marks are received on the accurate build of a standard circuit board. The competition is comprised of various heats and those with the highest scores from each heat will compete in the next round at Southern Regional College, Portadown, on the 24th March 2017.
Five Springvale Engineering Apprentices, took part in the competition held in our Belfast campus workshop. Springvale’s Chief Executive, Alan Blair, is thrilled with the results from our competing apprentices;
“We are delighted to be able to give our apprentices the chance to showcase their talent by entering CITB’s NI Skillbuild. This is the first time that Springvale Learning has entered its apprentices into the competition and we are very happy with the outcome, with all the competitors scoring highly with their work, and the judge being greatly impressed with their efforts. The competition also boosted the confidence of all the apprentices who entered and created a great buzz in the workshop yesterday. We look forward to entering more of our learners into competitions of this nature in the near future, thereby giving them the opportunity to demonstrate their talent within their chosen trades.”
