Springvale Employment and Learning Solutions invite school leavers to register for September 2017
Springvale Learning has been supporting young people in developing their future careers at the heart of the community for 25 years and are enrolling school leavers to join in September 2017.
If you are aged between 16 and 17, The Department for the Economy’s ‘Training for Success’ is open for enrolment at Springvale’s main campus, to improve your chances of gaining an apprenticeship and employment. Learners will gain recognised qualifications in professional and technical skills all taught in state of the art facilities and two to three days practical work experience each week.
Vocational areas include; Professional Cookery, Barbering, Engineering, Plumbing, General Construction, Joinery, Hair and Beauty, Digital Media and Computer Technology.
Springvale learners and family members can benefit from a multitude of financial and health and wellbeing incentives including free theory tuition, special bonuses for achievement and attendance, £40 per week, money towards travel costs, 37 paid holidays each year as well assistance for those who require lodging and childcare allowance. Over the duration of the year, parents and guardians can enjoy various free classes and workshops including basic social media training, pampering evenings, afternoon tea parties, the basics of healthy cooking on a budget and basic DIY skills.
Springvale focus on the personal and social development of all students and kick start the year with a Fresher’s Fair on the 8th September 2017 from 10am – 1pm, welcoming everyone to the building and linking students to Springvale’s partner’s, offering services and discounts to suit everyone’s needs as well as entertainment and some light-hearted fun to kick start the year.
Team building trips take place throughout each vocational area including day trips ice skating, bowling and football matches. Motivational speakers are all part of the package at Springvale, with industrial visits organised for learners gain an understanding of the opportunities available in industry.
The health and wellbeing of all students that attend Springvale is a priority. Learners can benefit from various offerings, including counselling services and health checks from various partners such as Cancer Focus NI. Springvale also provide a weekly drop in clinic with partners FASA and HYPE, where students can obtain a range of information and discuss confidential issues issues such as sexual health, alcohol and drug use.
