Springvale Employment and Learning Solutions hosts an Open Day

Springvale Employment and Learning Solutions opened the doors to the public for their annual Careers Fair Thursday 25th August 2016, for students receiving their GCSE’s results.

All vocational sectors were showcased to potential students with tutors explaining what is on offer in the coming year when they join Springvale.

Vocational areas on show at the open day included, Engineering, Plumbing, Hair and Beauty, Digital Media, Computer Technology,  Catering, Joinery to name but a few.

Benefits include £40 per week, money towards travel costs, attendance bonuses and achievement cash bonuses, 37 paid holidays each year as well lodging and childcare allowances depending on individual circumstances.

Springvale focus on the personal and social development of all students and feature events including a Fresher’s Day Fair on the 9th September 2016 from 10am- 1pm, linking the students to Springvale’s various partners, offering services and discounts alongside food samples of local and international cuisine and excellent entertainment to kick start the year.

During the year, learners are offered various incentives, from Victoria Square Vouchers, cash bonuses or even driving lessons as a reward for 100 percent attendance.  Team building trips also take place throughout each vocational area in the campus including day trips ice skating, bowling and football matches. Motivational speakers are all part of the package at Springvale, with industrial visits being enjoyed by students to get a better understanding of their chosen career field and the opportunities available in industry.

Health and wellbeing is a priority for learners at Springvale, with beneficial offerings including counselling services and health checks from various partners such as Cancer Focus NI.  Last year’s students were entertained with a steep climbing wall at the annual Health and Wellbeing Day as well as scrumptious healthy food options and cooking lessons for all to enjoy. There was even a drumming circle for each class to participate in. Springvale also provide a weekly drop in clinic with partners FASA and HYPE, where students can obtain a range of information and discuss confidential issues such as sexual health, alcohol and drug use.
