Employment Success for Engineering Learners Sean and Gearoid!
Congratulations to two Electrical Learners Gearoid McConville and Sean O’ Hanlon who have gained full time employment with Atlas and are now working as apprentices for the company!
During their time at Springvale, Sean and Gearoid completed the Training For Success programme, which gives young people the tools and confidence to find work and gain the recognised skills and qualifications to help build their careers. Both young men successfully completed a Level 1 Certificate in Engineering and Technology as well as Level 2 qualifications in Essential Skills and Personal and Social Development.
Sean speaks positively of his time with us and the opportunity to work for Atlas, ‘Springvale has benefited me big time, it has got me on my feet and on the road to employment. Thanks to my tutor Iain, I have gained plenty of skills and confidence to secure an apprenticeship. I am over the moon and it’s all thanks to Springvale.’
Sean and Gearoid will continue to train and progress in Atlas Fire and Security section. They will learn how to design, install, commission, maintain, handover and undertake fault diagnostics of fire detection systems and also security systems, with the opportunity to specialise as they progress.
Delighted with the opportunity Gearoid says, ‘When I found out that I had secured an interview I was extremely nervous. I couldn’t be happier when I got the job and the apprenticeship place. Without my tutor Iain’s help, this wouldn’t have happened. All that is left to do is to work hard and look forward to becoming a fully qualified engineer.’
Iain McCart, their Electrical Tutor said ‘The two guys have worked very hard during their time at Springvale and we’re very proud of their achievements. We wish them all the very best in their future career with Atlas’.
