What is Retail?

A retailer comes at the end of a long supply chain which ultimately sells goods to a customer. Employment in retail can vary from working in local fruit shop, a medium sized franchise or working in a global store selling goods to a customer.

Depending on your interests, qualifications, experience or skills, there is a wide variety to suit the needs of any individual who wants a career in retail.

Common tasks involved in Retail

A role in retail is heavily concentrated on excellent skills in communication and customer service as well as:

A level 2 qualification in retail can help you learn, develop and practise the skills required to increase employability or progress your current career in retail. The qualifications will focus on areas including sales, customer support, stock control and processing goods. Completion of this course can also lead to further study and career progression.
