| Description: | Plumbers install, repair and maintain the water supply, drainage and central heating in houses and other locations. They use a variety of tools to carry out their work. |
| Personal Qualities: | Plumbers need good practical skills, the ability to work carefully following specifications and interpreting plans and drawings, with good people skills to work with customers in their own homes. They also need to be physically fit as the work involves a lot of bending, kneeling and working in cramped and awkward spaces. They must be comfortable working at heights. |
| Timescale: | 3 days (21 hours) off the job when not in placement. 3 days (21 hours) off the job plus 1 further day when in placement. |
