| Description: | Computer Support Services Engineers help customers or colleagues with their computer needs. They install, demonstrate, maintain and update computer equipment and software. |
| Personal Qualities: | Computer Support Services Engineers need a sound technical background in ICT and to be knowledgeable about the products or services provided to customers as well as keeping up to date with any new developments. They need to understand hardware and software as both of these can cause operating faults. They need good analytical and problem solving skills, patience and perseverance for sorting out problems. They need a logical, methodical approach to their work and tact and consideration when dealing with clients. They need good time management skills and strong communication skills, especially when explaining technical information to people from non technical backgrounds. They need to stay calm under pressure and should have a reasonable level of fitness to lift and carry equipment to and from users. |
